Trump is meeting North Korea’s dictator Kim Jong-Un in Vietnam.
Trump and several members of his administration have remarked how North Korea should use Vietnam’s economic growth as an example of how they can emerge from poverty.
I’m confused. Vietnam is a communist nation with a centrally-planned and controlled economy. Granted, the main economic officials in Vietnam are Western-educated, but, the place is still a communist nation with a centrally-planned economy.
So — Trump thinks the Communist nation of North Korea should pattern its economy after its Communist cousin, Vietnam.
I thought Trump was vigorously opposed to Communism. At least that’s what he says when he’s attacking Democrats.
