A Georgia grand jury has indicted State Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner Jim Beck, reports Fox 5 in Atlanta.
He’s accused of committing wire fraud, mail fraud, and money laundering, among other crimes. He is also allegedly involved with the Georgia Christian Coalition in the fraud scheme. Indictment alleges money was funneled from Georgia Underwriting Association by Commissioner Jim Beck through a separate company to Georgia Christian coalition.
As the Atlanta Journal Constitution reported, his alleged schemes earned him millions, which he poured into his race for office, according to the indictment. He spent other proceeds to pay his taxes and on personal expenses.
