Meanwhile, back in Alaska, the close-knit, loving, god-fearing, humble Palin Freak Show continues

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Sarah is being represented by family law attorney Lori Colbert.

Colbert filed an appearance in the divorce proceeding initiated by Todd Palin.

According to her biography, “Colbert is a lifelong Alaskan. She is a graduate of Claremont McKenna College, where she earned an undergraduate degree in political science, and Willamette University College of Law, where she earned her law degree.”

Colbert has worked in family law for years but has years of trial experience. She handles cases involving “family issues, including adoptions and family formation, surrogacy and other assisted reproduction technologies, divorce, child custody, child support, interstate custody, qualified domestic relations orders (QDROs), and Indian Child Welfare Act cases.” She has been practicing law for over 20 years.

Sarah and her lawyer share some things in common including family, religion and Alaska.

I am not surprised that Palin hired a lawyer, that is what you do in these situations, but hiring one like Colbert makes me think that she is going to fight Todd who court papers claimed only wanted to split everything in half.

That suggests to me that she does not see an even split as fair and wants to negotiate a settlement where he gets much less.

Probably much, much less.

Sarah Palin has been responsible for the vast amount of the money the family has received since about 2008, mainly from her PAC, SarahPAC.  The PAC was an “unlimited PAC” which means donations could be used for anything — and they were.  Sarah spent money from the PAC on clothes, houses in Arizona, vacations to Hawaii for herself and her kids, bail money for her son . . . and gave a few dollars here and there to help Republican candidates.  But, mainly, money donated to SarahPAC went into her bank account for a rainy day.

I am sure that Todd envisioned splitting the millions and living the high life on half of his former wife’s ill gotten gains.

I don’t think that’s what is going to happen here.

If this gets as ugly as it usually gets for the Palins we are going to see a lot of fireworks and public name calling as well as a lot of really dark secrets exposed.

I can hardly wait.
