Republicans briefed by US intelligence agencies on Russian propaganda about Ukraine, refuse to believe it
Friday it was revealed that Russia has worked on a disinformation campaign to blame Ukraine for the 2016 election meddling.
Every U.S. and international intelligence agency (other than Russia) has confirmed that Russia was at fault for the election meddling. Facebook and Twitter released information about the costs and ad buys done by Russian disinformation campaigns. Yet, Russia is now attempting to blame Ukraine.
Also on Friday, the Senate Republicans were outed for knowing about the conspiracy from Russia months ago. Senators had a “highly classified briefing” this fall that outlined the propaganda effort.
“But nevertheless, Republicans that I talked to in the aftermath coming forward, the Republicans are still siding with the president instead of the experts,” said CNN’s Manu Raju.
Lindsey Graham is about to go down because Trump has something on him
In a CNN interview with Don Lemon, former Vice President Joe Biden predicted that Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) is clearly compromised by something that is prompting his behavior on Russia issues.
“Let me ask you. because Lindsey Graham now, who you’ve worked with, who was a friend,” Lemon began his questions. “I know this, video of him saying, ‘oh, you are the nicest person he’s ever met. You’re the greatest man.’ ‘And now asking the State Department for documents for you and your son. What do you say to Lindsey Graham and folks like him?”
Biden explained that Graham is clearly being controlled by someone else.
“They’re asking Lindsey Graham — they have him under their thumb right now,” Biden said. “They know he knows if he comes out against [President Donald] Trump he’s got a real tough road for re-election. Number one. I am disappointed, and quite frankly I’m angered by the fact that he knows me. He knows my son. He knows there’s nothing to this. Trump is now essentially holding power over him that even the Ukrainians wouldn’t yield to.”
Biden explained that even Ukraine said that they didn’t want to investigate the Bidens over the conspiracy theories and that “there’s nothing to investigate.”
“And Lindsey is about to go down in a way I think he’s going to regret his whole life,” Biden said.
Trump caught delaying aid to another country
According to a report from the Associated Press, the Trump administration is withholding over $100 million in military aid to Lebanon that has already been approved by Congress. The aid has also reportedly been endorsed by Trump’s national security team.
As the AP points out, the development echoes the delay in aid to the Ukrainian government — which is at the center of the current impeachment inquiry targeting Trump.
